    About Trafford Lowe Funeral Services

Trafford Lowe Funeral Services are proud to serve many local families and communities of Amber Valley, South and North Derbyshire and surrounding areas with a professional, respectful and personal funeral service.

We continue to abide by the same shared values that Trafford Lowe (funeral director) founded the company with in 1958.

Trafford continued to grow the business over many years until his retirement in 2004. Trafford sadly passed away in January 2016, leaving his then business partner Ray Bonsall (funeral director), known to many people in the local area as Ray, to continue serving local families, alongside third-generation funeral director Barry Pritchard.

At Trafford Lowe Funeral Services, we believe we have an important responsibility to care for our families. Providing you with a compassionate, highly professional and friendly approach to creating a unique tribute and service for your loved one, not just by offering support and guidance during the funeral, but especially through the difficult days that may follow.

    Meet the Team

    Barry Pritchard

    Funeral Director

Barry Pritchard is a third generation funeral director following proudly in the footsteps of his father Alan (Jim) and Grandfather Charles. The Pritchard family have been undertakers since the early 1900.

“As a third generation funeral director I wanted to create a dignified personal Funeral Directors. My family and I are well known in the area. We have an abundance of local knowledge and have served many families at their worst possible time with compassion, pride and care for many years.

It is so important to assist our families in creating a funeral that best reflects the personal wishes of their loved one, be it simple or unusual. We will always endeavour to help you arrange a personal farewell, creating a lasting memory that will stay with your family for many years to come.

Meeting bereaved family expectations and exceeding them is very important for me. Excellence can only be achieved if the accumulation of what may seem minor and inconsequential details are gathered in a loving and positive way, we can achieve excellence even in the saddest of times.”
